Another Emerge Alumna Serves With Distinction

MILWAUKEE – Yesterday, the Wisconsin Alliance for Women’s Health announced plans to honor Carousel Bayrd with its Woman of Commitment Award. WAWH is recognizing Bayrd, a Dane County Supervisor and Vice Chair of the County Board, “for her dedication to advancing women’s equality and health and for her years of advocacy efforts.”

Bayrd, a graduate of the Emerge Wisconsin program in 2009, is currently Vice Chair of the Emerge Wisconsin Board of Directors. “We are proud to see Carousel recognized for the passionate voice she wields,” said Paula Zellner, Chair of the Board of Directors for Emerge WI. “That’s exactly the kind of fearless leadership we strive for at Emerge.”

WAWH will recognize Bayrd at their 10 Year Anniversary Celebration on September 25th in Madison.

Emerge Wisconsin provides Democratic women with the comprehensive training they need to achieve their political aspirations. Emerge Wisconsin is an affiliate of Emerge America, a national movement to create a legion of Democratic women leaders for generations to come.
